巴西棕櫚蠟曾用于制備耐胃酸的微球。[1]其它：***用皮革等工業(yè)。酸值取本品，精密稱定，置250ml燒瓶中，加二甲苯100ml，加熱至完全溶解，加乙醇50ml和溴麝香草酚藍(lán)指示液，加熱使澄清后，趁熱用乙醇制氫氧化鉀滴定液（）滴至綠色，并將滴定結(jié)果用空白試驗校正。酸值（中國藥典2005年版二部附錄ⅦH）應(yīng)為2～7。皂化值編輯取樣品，精密稱定，置250ml燒瓶中，加異丙醇－甲苯（5：4）混合液50ml，精密加入，加熱回流3小時，加酚酞指示液1ml，趁熱用鹽酸滴定液（）滴定剩余的堿，至溶液紅色剛好褪去，加熱至沸，如溶液又出現(xiàn)紅色，再滴定至紅色剛好褪去，并將滴定結(jié)果用空白試驗校正。皂化值（中國藥典2005年版二部附錄ⅦH）應(yīng)為78～95。鑒別取本品約，加*5ml，加熱溶解，作為供試品溶液（趁熱點樣）。另取薄荷醇、麝香草酚各約10mg及乙酸薄荷酯10μl，置20ml量瓶中，加甲苯稀釋至刻度，作為對照品溶液。照薄層色譜法（中國藥典2005年版二部附錄VB）試驗，吸取供試品溶液6μl，對照品溶液2μl，分別點于同一硅膠G薄層板上，以乙酸乙酯-*(2:98)為展開劑，展開后，取出，晾干。 美國史東畢斯公司,微晶蠟Microcrystalline Wax, SP-18,NF.
